Wall Mural in Downtown Colorado Springs

Wall Mural in Downtown Colorado Springs

Posted by Judith Kimbrell on 14th Sep 2018

Starting today in downtown Colorado Springs, a 15 x 20 foot wall mural will hang on the side of a building at Kiowa and Tejon Street featuring Judith's Aspens Against The Blue photograph. This project has been funded by the Palmer Land Trust as part of their Forever Yours, the Land campaign. With the permission of the city, and additional marketing and organization by Mimi Wheeler, this project is now complete.

The push of the campaign is conservation, with the knowledge that people and the land are connected. People must live and use resources from the Earth to survive, but they must also be good stewards of the land as well. Open space is necessary to not only maintain the balance between man and nature.

This project is very much aligned with Judith's personal philosophy concerning conservation. She has long believed that the both the land and the human race are to be treasured. The land should be enjoyed and used, but what is pulled from the land must be put to good use and not wasted, and when possible it should be replaced.

Judith's iconic image will hang for at least one year (perhaps longer is the weather is kind) in the downtown area.
